Web Browsers
Internet Explorer users are automatically given a Windows Media Player, with all other browsers are handed a Silverlight player. Macintosh also uses the Silverlight player for Windows Media, and the Flash based player for MP3 and AAC/AAC+ streams.
Silverlight is the latest player technology and only requires that the user either have Silverlight installed, or will be prompted to download it and it plays on Windows and Mac desktops, assuring full penetration as well. Although Linux desktops make up a very tiny segment of the listener population, we can still reach them. All it requires is a direct link to your stream in either MP3, WMA or AAC. Please note; not all features will work on the Linux platform. If you want more information on reaching Linux desktops, please contact you Account Representative.
You may also elect to use the Flash based player, which is already installed on almost all desktops, for the highest percentage of penetration. If you wish, you may also stream in AAC/AAC+, which plays via our Flash player.
