Auto-restart Encoding

If the encoder PC being used to stream off your board reboots, or is restarted for any reason, the DCS (Data Capture Software) module that grabs artist information will start back up once the machine comes back online and will automatically begin broadcasting the attributes data to your player. This application runs as a service in the background on your PC and requires you to do nothing else once it is installed and set up.

For the actual encoder itself, if you are set up using a 'pull' connection, which is the most stable way to stream, the server is constantly maintaining the connection to your encoder and will re-engage and start streaming again automatically once the machine is rebooted for whatever reason. This is what we recommend for most radio stations and for anyone doing live broadcasts lasting more than a couple hours, especially for broadcasting 24/7.

To do this, a static IP address or dynamic domain name service is needed for the streaming server to connect to. It also requires some simple firewall and router configuration on your end, which we can easily help with from our end.
